New Links - We begin with new links to our pages.

  • The first one is at the top of the "Index" page.   It is a link to NASA's daily photograph of our Universe.   This has a new photo each day.
  • We have added a new page to our "In Search Of" series.
  • Additionaly we have added a page "My Quips" to the "From Out Of Our Past" series Part II.  
          The "From Out Of Our Past" series is my favorit as it gives a lot of stories of our ancestors as well as other items.

      16 October 2010 - Articles for the Web Pages -

    Very few changes have been made during the past two years, due to health and other problems.  At age 78, (79 in November) I now have arthritis in the hands and back and can no longer type as well as before.  It makes it very difficult to present you with new data.   Also, I can no longer sit in front of a computer for hours as I did before.   However there is a way that can be used to add to the web page.   If you have data that can be used, such as articles, histories, stories,etc., I will be more than happy to add them to the web site.   These articles can be items copied from old publications or written by yourself.   Below the title of your article include your name and e-mail address.   This will allow the readers to know where the article comes from and give you credit for your hard work.   Somewhere in the text be sure to indicate the publication or publications used for the article.

    Write your articles and submit them to history@footprints.org .  In the subject line be sure to list it as "WEB PAGE - HISTORY".   My e-mail will separate those files and place them in a special folder named History.

    If you are submitting a "query", submit them to query@footprints.org.   In the subject line be sure to list it as "WEB PAGE - QUERY".   My e-mail will separate those files and place them in a special folder named Query.   These files I will read daily and attempt to answer them right away.

    Since I receive hundreds of e-mails each day, I don’t get a chance to read them all on the day that I receive them, so they are placed in a “Read” folder and I will read them when time permits.   Advertisements I delete withoutreading them.

    By you submitting articles this web site will continue to be updated.   It is my only hope of being able to continue with new data and information for our readers.

    November 2007 Additions
      1 November 2007 - Ahnentafel Chart for Don Wright -
    I am still in awe of and still don't completely understand how the DNA works.   It was done primarily to help trace my Wright line, but I have not had any luck with it.   However I have received many e-mails concerning the connections to many different lines.   It has been hard for me to continue to answer all of those inquiries, so I decided to include my Ahnentafel Chart to let others know all of the Surnames that I am descended from.   From this page there are many links to histories that are already on the Footprints Web Site.   I hope this will help in some way to connect to more of our ancestors.   For those interested, check this page often as I will continue to add links to our family histories.

      2 Aug 2007 - William Wright, b. 5 Feb 1755 -
    In search of the descendants of William Wright who married Joanna Inman.   He served in the American Revolution in the Connecticut Regiment, 4th Company from Wethersfield, CT.   He also served as a guard for General Washington.
    April 2007 Additions
      2 Apr 2007 - The Sermon, by Rev Solomon Williams -
    This is a Historical Sketch that includes Northampton, Westhampton, East Hampton and Southampton as well as Hatfield, Hadley, Westfield and many other towns.   In this Sermon, many of our early ancestors are mentioned, as well as the many Indian attacks and the deaths that followed. This Sermon is suggested reading for anyone that had ancestors living in those areas in the 1600's and 1700's.
    March 2007 Additions
      7 March 2007 - Kelvedon Hatch Wrights-
    The Kelvedon Hatch Wrights pages have been corrected.   All page and e-mail links have been checked and corrected.   One page remains to be updated and that is "The Wrights of Kelvedon Hatch", by: Albert Nye.   This page will take quite some time to rebuild and update.   However, we will upload it each day that we work on it.   We plan to work on (add to and update) the entire Kelvedon Wrights series of pages during the month of April.   So if you have additions or corrections you would like for us to make, please let us know as soon as possible.   All help you can provide will help many other researchers.
      4 March 2007 - Thomas Cornell of the United States and Canada-
    The new Cornell Research page is now on line.   This has one of the largest descending lists on my database.   We are looking for histories and families to add to the Cornell family.   It would take a whole page just to list the surnames linked to this family.   We hope you will all help in adding to this family.

      27 October 2006 - Edward Shipman of Canada and United States-
    The Shipman pages are again being revisited.   We have received many items for adding to the Shipman pages.   Including photos, Obits, Descendants Lists, etc.   We are always looking for more information on this family and related lines.   For the next few weeks you will be seeing many more links to the history of this family, so visit often.

      1 Sep 2006 - Aaron Fletcher of Allegan Co, Michigan-
    At long last we have started again on our Fletcher pages.   With a numbe of new researchers we have again re-energized this family research.   The pages includes photos, census records, documents, etc.   It also it is also linked to other families of the area.   We are always looking for more information on these families.   Some of the families include the Morse, Dornan, Jerue, Scott, and Wright families as well as others.

      1 Feb 2006 - Nehemiah Morse of Madina Co, Ohio-
    We have finally completed the first phase of our Family Research pages on Nehemiah Morse of Madina Co, Ohio.   It includes photos, census records, documents, etc.   It also has a link to the Family Research page of Aaron Fletcher of Allegan Co, MI.   We are always looking for more information on these families.   We are also working on the Nehemiah Morse family descendants of Ganges, Allegan Co, MI, as well as continuing to gather information on the Fletcher and Wright families.   All are linked from the Morse Family Research page.

      29 Dec 2005 - DNA Testing-
    You are reminded that if you are a Male Wright descendant, you can use the DNA testing to help find your ancestors.   This testing has helped me eliminate a few connections that I though were possible ancestors.   We are in hopes that in time it will help in finding those missing links.  It can help to match individuals and families who share a common male ancestor of the Wright surname.       11 Nov 2005 - A Grave In A Tree-
    In 1990 I was searching through the microfilm of one of our local newspapers and ran across the article “A Grave In A Tree”, published in 1875.   I thought it was a great article and would be something interesting for someone to check out, being that it was written so long ago, (130 Years ago).   In 1996, it was one of the first articles that I put on my web page.   I was hoping that someone in the area would be interested enough to see if it was still there.   Surprisingly, no one has ever commented on it.   I think it would be a great outdoor trip for a genealogist.   What do you think?

      16 Oct 2003 - The Shipman Family of English Origins In America. The history and descending line of Edward Shipman, born about 1625 in England came to Saybrook, CT about 1635. Some members of the descending family moved to Canada in the late 1700's and the line is followed back to America in the mid 1800's. This page also has references back to the "Country Doctor".
