State of New Jersey - Essex County : On this Twenty Sixth day of August Eighteen hundred and fifty one Personally appeared before me John J. Plumer a Notary Public in and for the State of New Jersey. Moses Wright, aged Fifty five years a resident of the Township of Livingston in the State of New Jersey who being duly Sworn according to Law declares that he is the Identical Moses Wright ^who was a Private in the Company Commanded by Captain S. Halsey in the First Regiment United State Dragoons Commanded by Colo Burns in the War with Great Britain declared by the united States on 18th day of June 1812. That he Enlisted at Newark on or about the first of September 1812 for the Term of the War and Continued in actual Service for the Term of about Four months acting as Recruiting Sergeant with Sergeant Cassell [Cappell?] at Newark and Jersey City that he was then taken from the Service by his Father being under age.

That he is the identical Moses Wright who was a Private in the Company Commanded by Capt John A Kirsted [Kinsted?] in the New Jersey Regiment of Militia Commanded by Colo John Dodd in the War aforesaid, That he was drafted at Livingston on or about the first of September A.D. 1814 for the Term of Three Months and Continued in actual Service for the Term of Three Months and was honorably discharged at Hoboken on the Second day of December 1814 as will appear by the Muster Rolls of said Company he makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the bounty Land to which he may be entitled under the Act granting bounty Land to certain officers and Soldiers who have been engaged in the Military Service of the United States passed September 28th 1850.

On this day April fifth A. D. one thousand eight hundred and fifty five personally [sic] appeared before me Rufas F. Harrison, one of the justice of the peace within and for the said County and state Moses Wright aged fifty nine years a resident of Livingston in the State of New Jersey who being duly sworn according to law declares that he is the identical person who was a private in the company commanded by Captain Caisted in the Rigament [sic] of Milita [sic] Commanded Col. Wymans [Hymans?] in the war with Great Britain declared by the United States on the 18th day of June 1812 for the term of three months and continued in actual service in said war for fourteen days that he has heretofore made application for bounty Lands under the act of September 28th 1850 and received a land warrant =No. 70.917 For forty acres which he has since legaly [sic] disposes [sic] of and cannot now return. He makes this declaration for obtaining the additional Bounty Land to which he may be entitled under act approved the 3d day of March 1855 he also declares that he had never applied for nor received under this nor any other act of Congress for any bounty land warrant except the one above mentioned Moses Wright

Wright Resident of Essex County in the State of New Jersey upon our oaths declare that the foregoing declaration was signed and acknowledged by Moses Wright in [our/are] presence and that we believe from the appearence [sic] and statement of the applicant that he is the identical person he represents himself to be.

The foregoing declaration and affidavit were sworn to & subscribed before me on the day & year above written and I certify that I know the affiants to be credible person that the claimant is the person he represents himself to be & that I have [no?] interest in this claim.
