Moses Wright New Jersey Warrant #70917-40-50 and 51265-120-55 State of New Jersey - Essex County : On this Twenty Sixth day of
August Eighteen hundred and fifty one Personally appeared before me John J. Plumer a Notary
Public in and for the State of New Jersey. Moses Wright, aged Fifty five years a resident of the
Township of Livingston in the State of New Jersey who being duly Sworn according to Law
declares that he is the Identical Moses Wright ^who was a Private in the Company Commanded
by Captain S. Halsey in the First Regiment United State Dragoons Commanded by Colo Burns in
the War with Great Britain declared by the united States on 18th day of June 1812. That he
Enlisted at Newark on or about the first of September 1812 for the Term of the War and
Continued in actual Service for the Term of about Four months acting as Recruiting Sergeant
with Sergeant Cassell [Cappell?] at Newark and Jersey City that he was then taken from the
Service by his Father being under age.
That he is the identical Moses Wright who was a Private in the Company Commanded by
Capt John A Kirsted [Kinsted?] in the New Jersey Regiment of Militia Commanded by Colo John
Dodd in the War aforesaid, That he was drafted at Livingston on or about the first of September
A.D. 1814 for the Term of Three Months and Continued in actual Service for the Term of Three
Months and was honorably discharged at Hoboken on the Second day of December 1814 as will
appear by the Muster Rolls of said Company he makes this declaration for the purpose of
obtaining the bounty Land to which he may be entitled under the Act granting bounty Land to
certain officers and Soldiers who have been engaged in the Military Service of the United States
passed September 28th 1850.

believe the said Moses Wright to be the identical man who Served as aforesaid and that he is of

Rufus F. Harrison before whom the foregoing application was made was at the time of making
and now is an acting Justice of the peace in and for said County duly commissioned and sworn
whose manes is thereto written in his own hand and to whose official acts full faith and credit are
due and I do further
