Patience was born 5 Jun 1769 in CT, to Jonathan and Ruth Franklin. Her father died on 3 Jul 1778 during the battle of Wyoming in the Pennamite Wars.   It is not known when her mother died, but she no doubt had died before this date as Patience went to live with her uncle.

She married William Ferguson at age 18, in 1787, in Luzerne Co, PA.   After her husband William Ferguson died in 1826 Patience went to Cole County Illinois with her sons in 1839.   She died 12 Oct 1845, and was buried in Dry Grove Methodist Cemetery.
